A calm, trusted presence,
when it matters most

LEAVING WELL is led by Kerstin King, an End-of-Life Doula and Funeral Celebrant providing compassionate in-home support, coordination, advocacy and guidance across the Southern Highlands, Wollondilly and surrounding areas.

Leaving Well provides non-medical, in-home support, coordination and advocacy for individuals and families navigating diagnosis, life-limiting illness, later life, end-of-life care and bereavement.

Kerstin’s approach is grounded, calm and deeply relational, shaped not only by formal training, but also by lived experience supporting others through complex and emotionally significant times.

With a background in working closely with people, families and high-trust environments, Kerstin brings a strong capacity for communication, organisation and steady presence, helping individuals and families feel supported, informed and not alone.

Support is tailored to each family’s unique needs and may include care coordination, appointment support, diary management, education and guidance around end-of-life options, advocacy, legacy work, future planning, bucket lists, Swedish death cleaning, Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) support, bedside vigil, funeral planning, after-death and body care guidance, bereavement support and ongoing family support.

Wherever possible, Leaving Well supports people to remain connected to the comfort, familiarity and dignity of home, while also supporting families in caring for and supporting their person at home with greater confidence, understanding and calm.

Leaving Well embraces a holistic approach to end-of-life care, recognising the emotional, spiritual and relational aspects of dying alongside practical and physical support. This may include facilitating complementary supports such as meditation, reiki, sound healing, acupuncture, aromatherapy and other gentle therapies that help create comfort, connection and a sense of peace.

Kerstin is currently undertaking further training in funeral services, strengthening her ability to support families before, during and after death.

Approach & Experience

How I work with you

I offer a personal, in-home presence that brings clarity, calm and continuity.

Sometimes that means helping you make sense of what’s ahead.
Sometimes it’s coordinating care so everything works together seamlessly.
And sometimes, it’s simply being there, quietly and consistently, so you’re not navigating it alone.

My role sits alongside medical care, ensuring that the human side of the experience is not lost.

I provide in-home end-of-life support, care coordination and advocacy for individuals and families.

The process for working together is simple and supportive, designed to bring clarity and ease.

What this looks like in practice

1. A first conversation
We begin with a phone call or in-home visit, where we gently talk through your situation, what’s ahead and where you may need support.

2. Understanding what matters most
Together, we explore your wishes, concerns and priorities, ensuring your voice remains central in every decision.

3. Creating a support approach
Support is tailored to you. This may include in-home presence, coordination of care, advocacy and guidance for both you and your family.

4. Ongoing presence & coordination
I remain alongside you, quietly and consistently, helping everything work together and ensuring you’re not navigating this alone.

5. Support after death
Care continues beyond the moment of death, with guidance, practical support and a steady presence for those left behind.

You’re welcome to reach out at any stage, whether you’re planning ahead, navigating end-of-life care, or needing support after a loss.
